What you need to know about the 76ers

Philadelphia strolled past the Los Angeles Lakers with points to spare on Thursday, taking the matchup 105-87. Power forward Tobias Harris and center Joel Embiid were among the main playmakers for the 76ers as the former had 23 points along with five boards and the latter had 26 points and seven assists in addition to nine rebounds.

Ben Simmons continues to sit out but Embiid is thriving and his MVP candidacy is once again a serious discussion. The four-time NBA All-Star is averaging 28.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the floor and 36.5 percent from the 3-point line.

What you need to know about the Kings

Meanwhile, the Kings fell to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday 121-104. Shooting guard Buddy Hield had a tough game, playing for 30 minutes but putting up just eight points on 3-for-12 shooting.

Harrison Barnes had 28 points and nine rebounds in the loss but the Kings have struggled without De’Aaron Fox over the last three games (ankle). Fox is listed as questionable again for Saturday so Barnes will have to continue to carry a heavy load and Hield will certainly need to be a larger scoring presence off the bench.

How to make Kings vs. 76ers picks

The model is leaning over on the total and it’s also generated a point-spread pick that is hitting in well over 50 percent of simulations. You can only see the pick at SportsLine.
