The Atlanta Braves won the first game of the World Series on Tuesday against the Houston Astros and have the chance to take a commanding lead with a victory in Game 2 on Wednesday in Houston.

Atlanta jumped out to an early lead in the 6-2 win, with Jorge Soler becoming the first player to hit a leadoff home run in the first game of a World Series. Starting pitcher Charlie Morton suffered a broken leg and stayed in the game to get three more outs, but his season his over with the injury.

The Astros have now lost five home World Series games in a row, having dropped all four at Minute Maid Park against the Washington Nationals in 2019.
