The Chicago Bulls have managed to win two of their last four games since losing guards Lonzo Ball (knee) and Alex Caruso (wrist) a week ago. Much of that has been due to the return of Zach LaVine, who has come back strong from a five-game absence (knee) over his last three games. He has averaged 25.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and assists in those starts, and looks to keep things going against the Portland Trail Blazers at home on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET.

What you need to know about the Bulls

The Bulls came up short against the San Antonio Spurs this past Friday, 131-122. A silver lining for Chicago was the play of DeMar DeRozan, who had 32 points and eight assists in addition to six rebounds. DeRozan has scored at least 30 points in four of his last five starts.

Chicago has lost seven of their last 10 games, but have picked things up recently. Even in the loss to the Spurs, the Bulls still hit 52 percent of their shots from the field and only turned the ball over six times. They made nearly 55 percent of their shots in their previous game, a 111-105 win against Toronto. Chicago’s struggles have primarily been with 3-point shooting. For the season, the Bulls have made 37.5 percent of their shots from deep, but that number has sunk to 31.6 over their last three outings.

What you need to know about the Trail Blazers

Portland strolled past the Houston Rockets with points to spare this past Friday in a 125-110 victory. Shooting guard Anfernee Simons was the offensive standout of the game for Portland, and he went 5-for-9 from downtown as part of a 27-point and six-assist performance. Jusuf Nurkic (25 points, 13 rebounds) and CJ McCollum (26 points, five assists) also played well in the win.

Portland has allowed the highest field goal percentage to opponents this season at 47.5 percent, and that number has been an even higher 49 percent over the Blazers’ last three games. The Blazers’ rotation has been decimated by injuries in addition to Damian Lillard, who remains out indefinitely following abdominal surgery. Portland managed to get minutes from nine players against Houston on Friday, but only finished with 18 points from the bench, 12 of which came solely from guard Ben McLemore.
