Posey, Giants make history with NLDS Game 3 shutout in LA originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Buster Posey and the Giants have accomplished a lot together.

After shutting out the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 in Game 3 of the National League Division Series, Posey and the Giants made some more history of their own.

The Giants shutout the Dodgers in both games one and three, adding on to their franchise total, which ranks second in MLB history.

Not only has Posey caught 51% of the postseason shutouts in Giants’ franchise history, but the veteran catcher has caught more postseason shutouts than any catcher in MLB history.

Posey’s career is as decorated any almost any player in baseball history. Adding two more postseason shutouts to his resume is the cherry on top.
