What you need to know about the Clippers

Los Angeles came up short against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, falling 100-90. The loss ended the Clippers’ seven game win streak. Los Angeles’ defeat came about despite a quality game from small forward Paul George, who posted a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds.

The Clippers will enter tonight’s contest shorthanded with several key players unavailable. Kawhi Leonard hasn’t played all season, but the team will also be missing Serge Ibaka, Marcus Morris Sr. and possibly Terance Mann who is questionable. Thus, the team will have to rely more on George who leads the Clippers in points, rebounds, assists and steals.

What you need to know about the Spurs

Meanwhile, San Antonio came up short against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, falling 114-106. A silver lining for the Spurs was the play of point guard Dejounte Murray, who dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 10 assists and 10 boards. It was his second triple-double of the season which ranks third in the NBA, trailing only Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

Murray is one of seven Spurs averaging in double-figures as San Antonio has quality depth, even though it lacks a superstar. Like George, Murray is also filling up the stat sheet as he leads the Spurs in points, assists and steals and is having a career year. But the team will be without starting center Jakob Poeltl as well as his backup in Zach Collins, who hasn’t played all season.
