Cubs rookies dress up as ‘Despicable Me’ Minions on flight originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Halloween is a month away, but the Cubs got in the spirit a few weeks early on their flight to St. Louis.

And what better way to do so than rocking matching costumes?

Cubs rookies dressed up as Minions from “Despicable Me” on their flight from Pittsburgh following Thursday’s win over the Pirates.

Cubs players took to social media to document the occasion, and the photos are, as expected, amazing.

Here’s pitcher Adbert Alzolay and infielder Sergio Alcántara:

Reliever Manny Rodríguez completed the outfit with a nice touch, rocking black gloves.

It appears first baseman Frank Schwindel and Justin Steele — who had his best big-league start Thursday night — are included. For good measure, someone dressed up as Darth Vader.

A few looks at everybody in costume together:

We’ll have to wait and find out if anybody dressed up as Gru.
