In this Mets post game news conference, starter David Peterson called his changeup “up and down” the last two starts but extra bullpen work allowed him to establish it as an integral pitch in his win over the Rockies. He said it compensated for his slider not being as sharp till later in the game. Not knowing when he’ll be called upon next. despite pitching six scoreless innings in another strong start, Peterson remains undeterred. ” It’s an honor to be on this team and in this clubhouse with the guys, fighting shoulder to shoulder with them every day.”
