Who’s Playing

Boston @ Dallas

Current Records: Boston 4-5; Dallas 5-3

What to Know

The Boston Celtics are on the road again Saturday and play against the Dallas Mavericks at 8:30 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at American Airlines Center. The Celtics aren’t favored, but they just beat the odds in their last game, so don’t count them out.

Boston didn’t have too much trouble with the Miami Heat on the road on Thursday as they won 95-78. Small forward Jaylen Brown (17 points) was the top scorer for Boston.

Meanwhile, Dallas escaped with a win on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs by the margin of a single free throw, 109-108. Kudos to the oddsmakers for accurately forecasting both the winner and the close margin. Among those leading the charge for Dallas was point guard Jalen Brunson, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten boards.

Boston is now 4-5 while the Mavericks sit at 5-3. Two stats to keep an eye on: The Celtics are stumbling into the matchup with the third most fouls per game in the league, having accrued 21.3 on average. To make matters even worse for Boston, Dallas enters the contest with 21 fouls drawn per game on average, good for third best in the league. So the cards are definitely stacked in Dallas’ favor.
