Through 3 Quarters

The Houston Rockets are giving their home crowd exactly what it was hoping to see. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Oklahoma City Thunder 72-60 three quarters in.

The Rockets have enjoyed the tag-team combination of small forward Jae’Sean Tate and power forward Christian Wood. The former has 13 points and six assists along with five rebounds, while the latter has dropped a double-double on 19 boards and 16 points in addition to three blocks. This makes it three consecutive games in which Wood has had at least ten rebounds.

Shooting guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (18 points) has been the top scorer for Oklahoma City.

OKC has lost 86% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this season, so this one seems just about wrapped up

Current Records: Oklahoma City 6-13; Houston 3-16

What to Know

The Houston Rockets’ homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at 8 p.m. ET Nov. 29 at Toyota Center. The Rockets will be strutting in after a victory while Oklahoma City will be stumbling in from a defeat.

The Charlotte Hornets typically have all the answers at home, but this past Saturday Houston proved too difficult a challenge. Houston won 146-143 over Charlotte in overtime. Houston’s power forward Christian Wood was one of the most active players for the squad, posting a double-double on 33 points and 16 rebounds.

Speaking of close games: Oklahoma City was close but no cigar this past Friday as they fell 101-99 to the Washington Wizards. The top scorer for the Thunder was small forward Luguentz Dort (21 points).

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Rockets are expected to win a tight contest Monday. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.

Houston is now 3-16 while Oklahoma City sits at 6-13. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: Houston enters the game with 22.4 fouls drawn per game on average, which is the best in the league. But the Thunder rank third in the league when it comes to fouls per game, with only 17.1 on average. The ref’s whistle might dictate the flow of action in this one.
