Who’s Playing

Portland @ San Antonio

Current Records: Portland 27-49; San Antonio 31-45

What to Know

The Portland Trail Blazers have enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the San Antonio Spurs at 8:30 p.m. ET Friday at AT&T Center. The Trail Blazers have to know they’ll be fighting an uphill battle given the 15 point spread they are up against.

Rip City came up short against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, falling 117-107. The losing side was boosted by center Drew Eubanks, who had 21 points in addition to nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, San Antonio was just a bucket short of a victory on Wednesday and fell 112-111 to the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite the loss, the Spurs got a solid performance out of point guard Dejounte Murray, who shot 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and finished with a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards.

Portland is now 27-49 while San Antonio sits at 31-45. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Portland is stumbling into the contest with the fourth most fouls per game in the league, having accrued 20.9 on average. To make matters even worse for Portland, San Antonio enters the matchup with only 18.1 fouls per game on average, good for second best in the league. Keep an eye on whether or not foul trouble puts the Trail Blazers in a difficult position.
