Who’s Playing

Portland @ Oklahoma City

Current Records: Portland 21-29; Oklahoma City 14-34

What to Know

The Oklahoma City Thunder may be playing at home again Monday, but the experts are forecasting a 3.5-point loss. They will take on the Portland Trail Blazers at 8 p.m. ET at Paycom Center after having had a few days off. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’

OKC fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Indiana Pacers this past Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 113-110. Point guard Tre Mann wasn’t much of a difference maker for the Thunder; Mann finished with only nine points on 3-for-11 shooting in his 26 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, Portland lost to the Chicago Bulls on the road by a decisive 130-116 margin. A silver lining for Rip City was the play of shooting guard CJ McCollum, who had 29 points along with five boards.

Oklahoma City is now 14-34 while Rip City sits at 21-29. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: OKC has only been able to knock down 41.60% percent of their shots, which is the lowest field goal percentage in the league. Rip City has experienced some struggles of their own as they have allowed their opponents to shoot 47.60% from the floor on average, which is the highest shooting percentage allowed in the league. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
