What to Know

The Houston Rockets haven’t won a contest against the Golden State Warriors since Feb. 20 of last year, but they’ll be looking to end the drought Sunday. Houston might have tired legs after a matchup yesterday as they head on the road against Golden State at 8:30 p.m. ET Nov. 7 at Chase Center. The Warriors will be strutting in after a win while the Rockets will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Houston was just a bucket shy of a victory this past Saturday and fell 95-94 to the Denver Nuggets. Shooting guard Kevin Porter just could not get things rolling his way, finishing with only six points on 2-for-14 shooting in his 32 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, Golden State’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans this past Friday was close at halftime, but Golden State turned on the heat in the second half with 72 points. Golden State steamrolled past New Orleans 126-85 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Golden State had established an 88-66 advantage. They can attribute much of their success to point guard Gary Payton II, who had 17 points along with six rebounds, and shooting guard Jordan Poole, who shot 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and finished with 26 points.

Houston is the clear underdog, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. The odds have been favorable for them against the spread on the road this season, even if it’s been tough sledding overall. They are 4-2 ATS in away games but only 5-4 all in all.

Houston is now 1-8 while the Warriors sit at 7-1. Golden State is 5-1 after wins this year, and Houston is 1-6 after losses.
