Stroman home whites blue glove vs Marlins

Stroman home whites blue glove vs Marlins

Mets free agency is heating up, but fans are wondering whether Marcus Stroman will return to Queens in 2022.

After his contract expired at the end of 2021, Stroman’s name has popped up in potential offseason signings for the team, but so far it seems no offer has been made. If you ask the pitcher, he’d tell you himself he would “love” to return to the Mets.

“I would love to be back on the squad next year. I’ve proven that I can pitch in NY…others usually crumble under that New York pressure,” Stroman tweeted to a fan. “However, I know a source who says the front office rather the other pitchers on the market. I’m going to dominate wherever I end up!”

Stroman followed up with another tweet confirming the “source” is himself.

There are multiple free agent pitchers that the Mets are eyeing including Max Scherzer, Kevin Gausman and 2021 Cy Young winner Robbie Ray.

With Noah Syndergaard signing with the Los Angeles Angels and Steven Matz denying a Queens reunion to sign with the St. Louis Cardinals, the Mets are in need of pitching and Stroman can help fill that massive void.

Last season with the Mets, Stroman had a 3.02 ERA over 33 starts and 179 innings pitched.

The Mets have made three free agent deals already on Friday. The team has deals in place with infielder Eduardo Escobar, outfielder Mark Canha and outfielder Starling Marte.
