The 33-year-old Loup, who signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Mets last offseason, said on Sept. 9 that he wants to remain a Met.
“I am hoping they intend to sign me back,” Loup told Mike Puma of The New York Post.
In his first season in New York, Loup was close to unhittable, with a 0.95 ERA and 0.93 WHIP to go along with 57 strikeouts in 56.2 IP over 65 appearances.
Loup allowed just one home run all season and was been a key weapon against both right-handers and left-handers.
