Mets prospect Mark Vientos swinging at 2021 spring training

A bunch of the Mets‘ top prospects have been excelling during the minor league season.

Here’s the latest…

Low-A St. Lucie Mets

  • OF Alex Ramirez is red hot, with 10 hits in his last 22 at-bats. Overall this season, the 18-year-old is slashing .262/.330/.388 in 65 games in what has been his first taste of professional ball

  • RHP Junior Santos had a strong start on Sept. 1, firing 5.0 innings of one-run ball while allowing six hits, walking one, and striking out three. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine starts

High-A Brooklyn Cyclones

  • RHP J.T. Ginn had a second straight solid start on Aug. 25, allowing one run on seven hits while walking one and striking out four in 5.0 innings. Overall this season, Ginn — who has made six starts for Brooklyn since being promoted from St. Lucie — has a 3.69 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 61 strikeouts in 68.1 innings over 14 starts

  • C Francisco Alvarez, who has tormented opposing pitchers all season, has become a walk machine lately. Overall, he is hitting .271/.388/.532 with 18 homers, 17 doubles, and 62 RBI in 85 games this season for Brooklyn and St. Lucie

  • SS Ronny Mauricio has hits in nine of his last 11 games and is slashing .246/.293/.448 with 17 homers, 13 doubles, five triples, and six steals in 93 games for Brooklyn

  • SS Jaylen Palmer is hitting .220/.333/.439 with three homers, five doubles, two triples, and five stolen bases in 22 games since joining the Cyclones. In 66 games earlier this season for St. Lucie, he hit .276 with a .378 OBP to go along with 23 stolen bases.

Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies

  • INF/OF Brett Baty is on fire, with eight hits in his last 18 at-bats as he continues to adjust to Double-A. Overall this season, he’s hitting .291/.378/.471 with 12 homers and 21 doubles in 89 games between Brooklyn and Binghamton

  • 3B Mark Vientos has eight hits, including a homer, in his last 22 at-bats. He has 22 homers overall this season and is slashing .281/.346/.580 in 72 games for Binghamton

  • INF/OF Carlos Cortes has been terrific this season, slashing .262/.334/.497 with 14 homers and 26 doubles in 77 games while getting time in both corner outfield spots

Triple-A Syracuse Mets

  • OF Khalil Lee, who was just promoted back to the majors as part of the Mets’ September call-ups, hit .258/.450/.455 with eight homers, 14 doubles, and two triples in 78 games for Triple-A this season
