Mets prospect Ronny Mauricio following through on throw with Brooklyn Cyclones

Mets top prospects Ronny Mauricio and Francisco Alvarez were named to the High-A East All-Star Team on Thursday.

Mauricio was named Top MLB Prospect in the 12-team league.

Before a late-season promotion to Double-A Binghamton, the Mets’ top shortstop prospect starred for High-A Brooklyn, slashing .242/.290/.740 with 19 home runs and 63 RBI in 100 games.

Also in Brooklyn, Alvarez slashed .247/.351/.538 with 22 home runs and 58 RBI through 84 games.

Alvarez, who is considered the Mets system’s top catcher and prospect overall, started the season at Low-A St. Lucie by slashing .417/.567/.646 with two home runs and 12 RBI in 15 games.

Maurico, in his eight games with Binghamton, slashed .323/.364/.452. He hit one home run, a solo shot.
