A bettor at BetMGM will win $735,000 if the San Francisco Giants win the World Series.

Someone placed a $105,000 bet on the Giants to win the World Series. The Giants are +700 to win the World Series after finishing with the best record in baseball, though they’re not the favorites to win the title. The Los Angeles Dodgers at +400 are the favorites despite finishing a game behind the Giants in the National League West. And as a result, the Dodgers have to beat the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night in the NL Wild Card game to earn the right to play the Giants in the Division Series.

The Dodgers are the most popular pick to win the World Series among bettors with 12.6% of tickets. Those tickets make up 18.5% of the handle at BetMGM. The second-most popular bet was the New York Yankees, but those tickets can all be thrown away. The Yankees lost Tuesday night to the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card game. Nine percent of bets and 10.6% of the handle was on the Yankees (+1200) to win the World Series.

The big bet hasn’t skewed the total money on the Giants at BetMGM. The Giants are getting 8.4% of bets at BetMGM and those bets make up 8.3% of the handle. The Giants are the third-most popular pick among remaining playoff teams behind the Dodgers and the White Sox (+700).

The Red Sox (now +800) are the least-popular bet. Just 4.3% of bets and 3.4% of the handle is on Boston to win the World Series. The Red Sox have to play the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series after beating the Yankees.
