Just days after the Hawks traded Cam Reddish to the Knicks, the two teams will meet in Atlanta on Saturday. While Reddish (ankle) won’t play against his former team, his departure opens up playing time at small forward for players like Kevin Huerter and De’Andre Hunter. More minutes means more shots and more stats so you could do far worse than forming an NBA DFS stack with Huerter and Hunter for Saturday.
Neither player will break the bank for your NBA DFS salary cap, leaving you plenty of room to roster pricier options. And that’s the key to formulating a winning NBA DFS strategy — pairing low-cost, high-reward players with superstars. So what other value picks are out there in tonight’s NBA DFS player pool? Before locking in your NBA DFS lineups for Saturday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

On Friday, McClure included Hornets guard LaMelo Ball as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Ball finished with 23 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals, returning 46 points on DraftKings and 45.8 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Top NBA DFS picks for Saturday, January 15
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Saturday is Knicks forward Julius Randle at $8,600 on DraftKings and $8,200 on FanDuel. Randle flirted with his first triple-double of the season on Wednesday as he scored 17 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out eight assists in a win over the Mavericks.
Randle was dominant the last time he saw the Hawks as he had 25 points and 12 rebounds in that Christmas Day game. The Hawks have struggled against power forwards this season and just allowed Miami’s P.J. Tucker to drop 17 points on Friday, which is his second-highest point total of the season. Also, Reddish isn’t the only Knicks player out for Saturday as Kemba Walker and Derrick Rose also will not play, leaving even more of the scoring burden on Randle.
Another key in McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan ($8,500 on DraftKings and $8,000 on FanDuel). DeRozan will have to shoulder a bigger load of the Bulls offense with Zach LaVine (knee) amongst six Chicago players listed as out. In his 13th NBA season, DeRozan is playing at an All-NBA level and is averaging 25.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
DeRozan has played two games this season in which LaVine didn’t play and the veteran didn’t disappoint. He dropped 38 points on the Lakers on Dec. 19 and then had 26 points the next night vs. the Rockets. He also had six assists in each of those games so he’s not only looking for his shot when LaVine sits. Additionally, DeRozan’s third-highest point total of the season of 37 points came against the Celtics on Nov. 1, and Boston happens to be Chicago’s opponent tonight.
