Daniel Gafford is far from a household name when it comes to top front court NBA players, but he’s been more than a capable selection in the NBA DFS player pool over his last three games. During that stretch, he has averaged 14.3 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. On Friday night, Gafford and the Washington Wizards host a Cleveland Cavaliers side that has given up an average of 48.2 points in the paint per game on the road this season. Gafford was a non-factor in Washington’s earlier meeting with Cleveland this season, and that game was the first of three subpar showings before he broke out with a 20-point performance against Charlotte on November 17.

In the fourth quarter of Cleveland’s game against Dallas on Monday, 10 of the Mavs’ 13 made shots came in the paint or within a few feet of the basket. On Wednesday, the Cavs allowed Miami’s Dewayne Dedmon to finish second in offensive usage in relief of injured Bam Adebayo (thumb). Before making any NBA DFS picks for Friday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Thursday, McClure listed Suns point guard Chris Paul as one of his top NBA DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Paul recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 assists to go with two steals, which returned 32.25 points on DraftKings and 34.2 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Friday, December 3 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, December 3

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Friday includes Magic F/C Wendell Carter Jr. at $8,500 on FanDuel and DraftKings. Carter has been remarkably consistent for an Orlando team that frequently suffers from the pitfalls of having one of the NBA’s youngest rosters. Over his last five games he’s averaged 17 points and 10.4 rebounds per contest.

Carter has been one of the better 3-point shooters for the Magic this season, although he’s been on a bit of a cold snap lately. Fortunately, Houston has been poor at defending in the key over its last three games (52 points per contest), and Carter should be able to expose that weakness. When Orlando’s offense is clicking, Carter is often on the receiving end of alley-oops, and he should see plenty of those looks on Friday.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Dedmon at $4,800 on DraftKings and $5,500 on FanDuel. Dedmon is just starting what could be an extended run in the Heat starting lineup, as no timetable has been offered for Adebayo’s return following surgery to repair a damaged ligament in his thumb. Against Cleveland, he had 11 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks.

The Pacers have lost their last three games and have been out-rebounded in two of those matchups. Indiana has also given up an average of 48.7 points in the paint over their last three games, which would be the fourth-worst mark in the NBA if it was the Pacers’ season-long average. With Jimmy Butler (tailbone) out in addition to Adebayo, Miami should expect Dedmon to play a significant role on both ends of the floor.

How to set NBA DFS lineups for Friday, December 3

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Friday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.
