What you need to know about the Pelicans

New Orleans is simply hoping to get some of its key players back on the court for Friday night’s game. The Pelicans had four starters out in Tuesday’s 117-107 loss at Philadelphia. Leading scorer Brandon Ingram (ankle) and Josh Hart (ankle) both missed practice on Thursday and are questionable for this game.

Devonte’ Graham (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday and is probable to play on Friday, while Jonas Valanciunas will return after resting against the 76ers. Willy Hernangomez scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in place of Valanciunas. New Orleans has covered the spread at a 6-2-1 clip in its last nine games.

What you need to know about the Nuggets

Denver is on the third game of a six-game road trip that opened with wins over Detroit and Brooklyn. The Nets were without all three of their superstars and the Nuggets took advantage. Nikola Jokic came up just short of a triple-double, scoring 26 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out eight assists.

Austin Rivers added 25 points in the win over the Nets, 22 of which came in the second half. Rivers knocked down three 3-pointers during a 22-7 run that helped Denver turn the game around in the third quarter. The Nuggets have come away with a win in four of their last five trips to New Orleans.
