Phillies bring back Bohm, activate key reliever ahead of Braves series originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

The Phillies’ lineup is out for Tuesday night’s showdown in Atlanta. The team has also made a couple of roster moves, activating reliever Connor Brogdon from the injured list and recalling infielder Alec Bohm from Triple A.

Here is the lineup that Joe Girardi will use Tuesday night against Braves right-hander Charlie Morton:

1. Odubel Herrera CF

2. Jean Segura 2B

3. Bryce Harper RF

4. J.T. Realmuto C

5. Brad Miller 1B

6. Andrew McCutchen LF

7. Didi Gregorius SS

8. Freddy Galvis 3B

9. Zack Wheeler P

The Phillies entered the game 2½ games behind the first-place Braves in the NL East. The Braves’ magic number for clinching a fourth straight division title is five.

Brogdon had been out for two weeks with a strained right groin.

Bohm, the Phillies’ opening day third baseman, was sent to Triple A on August 23 after hitting .245 with a .645 OPS in 111 games. He played in 14 games at Lehigh Valley and hit .268 with five doubles, a homer, six RBIs, 14 strikeouts and seven walks. He played two games at first base.

Girardi continues to play Galvis at third base so Bohm will likely be used in a reserve role. The Phillies have six games remaining. It would not be surprising to see Bohm in the starting lineup if the Phillies are eliminated. He could very well be right back in the opening day lineup next season.

To make room for Brogdon and Bohm, the Phillies sent reliever Ramon Rosso and utilityman Luke Williams to Triple A. Also, pinch-hitter Matt Joyce, who had been designated for assignment, cleared waivers and was released.
