After winning four straight games on the road, the Rangers failed to keep that momentum at home, falling to the Flames, 5-1. New York failed to generate much offense, mustering just 18 shots on goal through the first two periods. Rangers Head Coach Gerard Gallant attributed most of the team’s problems to a bad first period and poor defensive zone coverage. Gallant: ‘We made too many turnovers… that cost us the hockey game…that first period was a tough one to watch’.
