Some tough news broke on Thursday ahead of Alabama baseball’s SEC road trip to Missouri as it was announced that junior left-handed pitcher Grayson Hitt would miss the remainder of the season with an elbow injury.
Hitt’s elbow injury will require Tommy John surgery which requires a lengthy recovery.
Hitt was projected to be an early-round pick in this year’s MLB draft, but now his future is uncertain.
Hitt has made eight appearances this season and has occurred a 3-1 record with a 4.19 ERA.
Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball was the first to report the unfortunate news.
Alabama will face Missouri in Columbia this weekend with a patched-together pitching staff.
