Through 3 Quarters

The Portland Trail Blazers are just one quarter away from delivering their fans the win they’ve been expecting. It’s looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Houston Rockets as the Trail Blazers lead 81-69.

Portland has been led by point guard Damian Lillard, who so far has 19 points and five assists along with five rebounds. Houston has been relying on the performance of point guard Kevin Porter, who has 13 points and five assists in addition to five boards. Porter does need to be careful, however, as he is in foul trouble with five.

Who’s Playing

Portland @ Houston

Current Records: Portland 5-7; Houston 1-10

What to Know

The Houston Rockets have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Portland Trail Blazers at 8 p.m. ET Nov. 12 at Toyota Center. If the matchup is anything like Portland’s 140-129 win from their previous meeting in May, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

The Rockets came up short against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, falling 112-104. The losing side was boosted by power forward Christian Wood, who had 20 points along with nine boards.

Meanwhile, Rip City came up short against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, falling 119-109. Despite the defeat, Portland got a solid performance out of point guard Damian Lillard, who had 28 points and seven assists in addition to seven rebounds.

Houston is expected to lose this next one by 6.5. Those burned by picking them against the spread on Wednesday might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the victory. We’ll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
