Finding positives in the 2021-22 Portland Trail Blazers‘ season is becoming increasingly difficult, especially lately, as the team has lost nine of its last 10 games. Things don’t look to get much easier on Wednesday night in the second game of a back-to-back against the surging Memphis Grizzlies. Even without star player Ja Morant, who’s out indefinitely due to a left knee injury he sustained Nov. 26, Memphis hasn’t missed a beat and is fourth in the Western Conference.

Memphis is favored by three points in the latest Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies odds from Caesars Sportsbook, and the over-under is set at 217.5. Before entering any Grizzlies vs. Trail Blazers picks, you’ll want to see the NBA predictions from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

What you need to know about the Trail Blazers

The Trail Blazers suffered their latest frustrating loss in overtime to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, 111-107. Damian Lillard scored 31 points with 10 assists in the losing effort, and Norman Powell chipped in with 23 points and six rebounds, but it wasn’t quite enough.

Portland has been in an especially bad place since CJ McCollum’s collapsed lung earlier in December. Not only have the Blazers struggled to replace his offensive production, but their most tradable asset has been on the shelf with no clear timetable for his return. Anfernee Simons didn’t do much in McCollum’s place on Tuesday, when he put up just eight points on 3-for-13 shooting in 32 minutes on the floor.

What you need to know about the Grizzlies

Morant looked like he was on track to return from a knee sprain as he resumed basketball activities, but is now back out of commission with his entry into health and safety protocols. Still, the Grizzlies got a big win in their last game against Philadelphia on Monday in convincing fashion, 126-91. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third quarter, when Memphis was up 101-75. Small forward Dillon Brooks (23 points) and power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (22 points) were the top scorers for Memphis.

For as strong as the Grizzlies have been recently, they are only 2-2 against the spread over their last four games. When Memphis played Portland earlier this season, the Grizzlies still had Morant, but Portland also had McCollum. Portland won that matchup 116-96, even though Lillard had a relatively off night with 20 points on just 27 percent shooting from the field.

How to make Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies picks
