Thanks to some early runs and an outstanding effort by their bullpen, the Yankees managed to get by the lowly Texas Rangers, 4-3. Nestor Cortes Jr. started but faltered in the 5th. Then, Chad Green, Clay Holmes, Joely Rodriguez and Aroldis Chapman shut down the Rangers the rest of the way. The bullpen could get a much needed boost with Luis Severino slated to return this week. The much-maligned Gary Sanchez belted his 22nd home run while Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres produced RBI singles. Aaron Boone: ‘A good job to get back on track but now we have to get ready for tomorrow’.
