The Boston Celtics kick off their 2021-22 NBA season on Wednesday night, October 20th against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, and if you are looking for a way to watch on cable television or an online streaming service, keep reading on while we get you up to speed.

The Celtics will face two of their former players in point guard Kemba Walker and shooting guard Evan Fournier, effectively facing their own backcourt from last season on the road in one of the toughest arenas to play in in the league — which just so happens to be Walker’s hometown team.

With their roster likely set for the time being and likely better health than they might have otherwise had, it should be an exciting way to start one of the more highly anticipated Celtics seasons in some time.

Injuries of note

The Celtics will only be without veteran big man Al Horford for the contest, with fellow health and safety protocol assignee Jaylen Brown having been cleared to play and listed as questionable for the game.

The Knicks are in comparatively good health as well, with only two way player Luka Samanic listed as out for the opener, with center Nerlens Noel listed as doubtful with left knee soreness.

Likely starting lineups

Boston Celtics

  • Robert Williams III

  • Player2

  • Jayson Tatum

  • Jaylen Brown

  • Marcus Smart

New York Knicks

  • Taj Gibson

  • Julius Randle

  • RJ Barrett

  • Evan Fournier

  • Kemba Walker
