The lack of spacing in the NCAA ranks often makes NBA-ready athletes look like worse prospects than they are, the lineups and plays run even today by many college programs not doing such players any favors — and often, as was the case of star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown, quite the opposite.

Brown was a top high school recruit before he was recruited to join the Cal-Berkeley Men’s Basketball program, and the Georgia native’s draft stock eventually would take a bit of a hit as a result. It was enough to get him to the Celtics and he still got life-changing money, so we doubt he minds too much.

But Jaylen Brown was better than you think in college.
