Game notes: The Pistons recovered from a 19-0 first-quarter run by Orlando to pull out a gutsy 113-109 victory Wednesday at home to start the season. Bojan Bogdanovic splashed six 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 24 points in his first game as a Piston, Cade Cunningham had 18 points and 10 assists, and rookies Jaden Ivey (19 points) and Jalen Duren (double-double) both had splendid NBA debuts. … Now, they’ll visit New York, where the Knicks will look to bounce back from an overtime loss at Memphis, 115-112, in which they also rallied from double digits. Julius Randle had 24 points for the Knicks and Cam Reddish poured in 22 points off the bench. Jalen Brunson had 15 points and nine assists in his Knicks debut, but RJ Barrett − fresh off signing a $100 million-plus rookie extension − shot 3-for-18 for 11 points. … Marvin Bagley III, Isaiah Livers and Alec Burks are out for the Pistons in this game. … This is the first half of a back-to-back for the Pistons; a visit to Indiana awaits Saturday night.
