For those who are still pursuing their professional basketball dreams, the Motor City Cruise might be able to make them come true.

The Detroit Pistons‘ incoming G League franchise will host local open tryouts Sept. 15. Participants will compete for an opportunity to be invited to Cruise training camp, scheduled for November.

Cruise general manager Rob Murphy, along with various other Cruise and Pistons front office members and coaches, will be in attendance.

The tryouts will be held at the Pistons Performance Center (690 Amsterdam St. in Detroit). The registration fee is a non-refundable $200, and all participants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. The registration deadline is Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. Only the first 105 registrants will be admitted.

On Monday, athletic footwear company Puma announced it has signed Pistons point guard Killian Hayes as a global ambassador.

Hayes, who became the highest-drafted French player ever when the Pistons selected him seventh overall in 2020, will become Puma’s first men’s basketball ambassador in France. Hayes will participate in several projects to help raise the brand’s awareness in France.
