The Philadelphia 76ers have a decorated Hall of Fame history with Allen Iverson, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, and Charles Barkley leading the list, but let’s examine some players who have donned the Sixers jersey recently.

In this edition, Sixers Wire will take a look at Andre Iguodala and build a case for him to be named to the Hall of Fame at some point in his career. Some will scoff, but Iguodala has had a terrific career, and now is the time to build a case for the now 38-year-old forward.

Iguodala’s career accomplishments

  • All-Star appearance in 2012 with the Sixers

  • First Team All-Rookie in 2005

  • All-Defensive Second Team in 2011 and All-Defensive First Team in 2014

  • 4-time NBA champion

  • 2015 NBA Finals MVP

Iguodala’s career stats

The overall case

The Hall of Fame is all about accomplishments and the impact a player has made on the game. Iguodala made an All-Star game with the Sixers in 2012, he has made an All-Defensive Team twice, he’s won four titles with the Golden State Warriors and he also won finals MVP in 2015. He helped the Miami Heat make the finals in 2020 as a big contributor and he also was successful with the Denver Nuggets in the 2012-13 season.

He has been one of the better players in the league for a long time, and he has a serious case to be named to the Hall of Fame whenever he does decide to retire.
