On Monday, 2K Sports released the first look at gameplay footage of NBA 2K22 and the finished product garnered some unwanted attention with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
The superstars of the NBA took the court in the new trailer ahead of the official release on Sept. 10. From LeBron James to Stephen Curry, there were plenty of cameos by some of the elite players in the clip. Also in the new trailer: Detroit Pistons rookie Cade Cunningham.
At least, we think that was Cunningham in the footage.
The initial images of Cunningham failed to live up to expectations as they look like anyone but him. Fittingly, fans were not happy with the first look at Cunningham as several took to social media to offer their impressions of him, and it wasn’t good.
Cunningham will enter NBA 2K22 as the highest-rated rookie player with an overall mark of 80. He topped the likes of Jalen Green, Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs and Scottie Barnes but his initial look in the game didn’t sit well with fans.
We’ll see if 2K Sports can get him looking right before the season starts…
