The 2022-23 NBA regular season is continuing to wind down and that means the MVP race is taking center stage as it gets down to the nitty-gritty. The award once again comes down to Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid and Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

Both players bring something unique to the table. Embiid is an elite scorer who is also one of the best defensive bigs in the game while Jokic is terrific in how he can run the offense and make his teammates better while lifting them to wins.

Everybody has an opinion in the MVP race and Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady stated his on TNT:

I think they’re equally having an advantage to win it. I’m leaning towards Jokic because he’s not playing with an All-Star. His team is number one in the West 29, triple doubles, and to me, he gets everybody involved. Like he has an impact. He’s not as a defensive player like Embiid, but I think his impact that he does so much so many other things. That really equals out to what Embiid brings his team. I just, the man is incredible.

Embiid is battling calf tightness at the moment as he has seven games left to build his case to win the MVP award. He has finished as the runner-up to Jokic in each of the previous two seasons.
