Kemba Walker pointing ahead classic white uniform no opponent

The Knicks will take the floor on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks shorthanded at the point guard spot, as both Kemba Walker (rest) and Derrick Rose (sprained right ankle) have been ruled out by the team.

Center Taj Gibson (groin) is also out, while fellow big man Nerlens Noel (knee) is questionable.

Walker, who scored 17 points in Friday’s loss to the Phoenix Suns, will sit out the second half of the back-to-back. Head coach Tom Thibodeau has previously said that the Knicks would assess Walker’s availably for back-to-backs on a case-by-case basis, as the veteran guard continues to take things cautiously with his left knee.

Rose has missed each of the last two games with his sprained ankle and will not be able to go on Saturday.

This injury news likely means more minutes for Immanuel Quickley and Alec Burks, both of whom have proven the ability to run the point off the bench. Quickley played 20 minutes on Friday, scoring 16 points, while Burks scored nine points in his 23 minutes.

The Knicks and Hawks tip off from Atlanta at 7:30 p.m., with the Knicks looking to avoid their third loss in their last four games.
