Los Angeles Lakers rookie Austin Reaves has been diagnosed with a strained left hamstring and will be reevaluated in two weeks, the team announced on Thursday.

Reaves did not play on Wednesday versus the Miami Heat due to the injury. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel previously said the injury was not considered to be serious and that he would be day-to-day but further evaluation showed he will need to sit for at least two weeks.

The undrafted guard has emerged as a key rotation player for the Lakers this season, averaging 6.1 points, two rebounds and one assist in 21.3 minutes per game. He has drawn high praise from Vogel and others this season and his loss figures to be greatly felt.

Reaves joins a growing list of Lakers players currently on the injury report. The team is also without LeBron James (abs), Kendrick Nunn (knee), Rajon Rondo (hamstring), Talen Horton-Tucker (thumb) and Trevor Ariza (ankle).

Despite the recent injuries, the Lakers have won two games in a row.
