Harrell calls Wizards’ loss to Nets, performance ‘unacceptable’ originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Wizards picked up their first loss of the 2021-22 season Monday night, falling behind the Brooklyn Nets early and never recovering in a 105-90 rout. Not many players in the red and blue had memorable performances, but forward Montrezl Harrell was upset enough with his play to express his frustrations on Twitter.

Harrell, who the Wizards acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers in the Russell Westbrook trade last offseason, shot 4-of-7 from the field with 10 points, seven rebounds, one assist, a block, a steal and a turnover. He finished with a plus/minus of -23, the worst of any player to appear in the contest.

Bradley Beal tried to take a share of the blame, quote tweeting Harrell with the message, “Starting with me fam! We good.” However, Harrell was quick to respond, saying it’s up to him to keep the Wizards’ energy level up during the game.

Over his first two games, Harrell scored 36 points with 16 rebounds and two blocks. He’ll look to get back on track in Washington’s next game Wednesday against the Boston Celtics.
