Report: Warriors are latest team to show Isaiah Thomas interest originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
Isaiah Thomas‘ search for NBA employment reportedly will take him to the Bay Area.
Thomas would be an interesting fit for Golden State, which could use more point guard depth behind Stephen Curry. Gary Payton II is the only other true point guard on the roster, with backups Jordan Poole and Damion Lee playing more off the ball.
Thomas played just three games for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2020-21 and hasn’t played more than 40 games in a season since his breakout campaign for the Celtics in 2016-17. The 32-year-old has been working hard this offseason to prove he’s still an NBA-caliber player, though, and turned heads last month by dropping 81 points in a Seattle Pro-Am game.
Will the Warriors end Thomas’ unemployment and bring him on for an 11th NBA season? That remains to be seen, but his reported workout is further evidence that he’s not, in fact, heading to Russia.
