Report: Warriors signing Galloway to training camp contract originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

The Warriors made a minor roster move Friday by signing guard Langston Galloway to a training camp contract, The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater reported.

Galloway, 29, has played for five NBA teams during his seven-year career, including the New York Knicks and Kings.

He spent last season as a member of the Phoenix Suns. In 40 games, Galloway averaged 4.8 points and 1.1 rebounds per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from 3-point range in 11 minutes per game.

For his career, Galloway is averaging 8.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 37.0 percent from distance.

The Warriors still are searching for a player to earn the 15th and final roster spot. They reportedly have worked out Darren Collison, Isaiah Thomas and Ryan Arcidiacono, who recently signed a training camp contract with the Boston Celtics. Gary Payton II is believed to have the inside track on the final roster spot at the moment.

Head coach Steve Kerr spoke with The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami and detailed Golden State’s plan for the final spot.

“The way we’re looking at it is that it’s up in the air,” Kerr told Kawakami. “We may or may not use it, but that’s what training camp is for. You get a really good look at some guys, there are some really interesting names, people who are really proven players in the league. You get a chance to get a good look at those guys and some young guys who are trying to make it in the league.”

It appears Galloway will have a chance to win that final spot in training camp.
