Report: Dubs working out two notable guards along with Thomas originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

The Warriors continue to close their eyes and hope their dart lands on a viable backup point guard. Along the way, they’re taking a look at some big names.

After already working out retired veteran Darren Collison, the Warriors are bringing in two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas this week. And he isn’t the only notable name who will stop through San Francisco.

The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears reported Monday morning that the Warriors also are working out Avery Bradley and former Golden State guard Quinn Cook, among others.

Between the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets, Bradley, 30, played just 27 games last season. He averaged 6.4 points per game and shot 32.7 percent from 3-point range. Bradley is known as a defensive stopper, which would be his main role on the Warriors.

Cook, 28, spent two seasons as a Warrior and won a championship with the team in the 2017-18 season. He averaged 7.7 points with the Warriors and shot 41.8 percent from deep.

This past season, Cook played 23 games between the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged a career-low 3.3 points but shot 42.3 percent from 3.

Notably, Spears reported the Warriors have “sincere interest” in Thomas. The 5-foot-9 guard now is 32 years old and only played three games in the NBA. But, Thomas tells Spears that he physically feels better than 2017, when he averaged 28.9 points per game for the Boston Celtics.

The Warriors have a 15th roster spot still open, and they’re clearly looking at all their options. Training camp will be here in the blink of an eye and the front office might take their time with this decision.
