Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid delivered another huge game on Sunday in a win over the Charlotte Hornets at home. The big fella stepped on the floor and he dropped 53 points on 20-for-32 shooting. He also drilled two triples and had 12 rebounds on a flat-out dominant night.
Embiid also made history for the Sixers as he joined Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in franchise history to have two 50-point games over a 9-game stretch. He was just phenomenal all night long and the Sixers continue to benefit from his star play. They hop on his back in order to get the job done.
As well as a big performance from Embiid, Philadelphia received 19 points, 16 assists, and nine rebounds from James Harden while De’Anthony Melton hit four triples in the third quarter. Tobias Harris also added 17 points in support.
NBA Twitter was set ablaze for what Embiid did as they had a ton of reaction on the night:

Joel Embiid though 18 games: 33.4 points per game on 64.2 percent true shooting.
Both numbers would be career highs. Highest volume and efficiency.

FINAL: Sixers 131, Hornets 113.
Joel Embiid was outrageously good… again. 53 points and 12 boards for him on the night in just 34 minutes.
19-16-9 for Harden.
After a slow start, the Sixers’ offense exploded.
The Sixers are 14-12.
