Kevin Durant jumper over two Celtics black uniform

For the 12th time in his 15-year NBA career, Kevin Durant is an All-Star.

Due to his sprained MCL in his left knee, Durant reportedly won’t suit up for this year’s game, but he still got voted in by the fans nonetheless.

The league announced the 10 starters for this year’s All-Star Game on Thursday night, with Durant among the highly decorated group. Durant will be a team captain, as he was the leading vote-getter in the East, while LeBron James will serve as the other captain as the West’s leading vote-getter. Both players will select their squads when the reserves are announced on Feb. 3.

Joining Durant among the starters are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, DeMar DeRozan and Trae Young from the East and James, Nikola Jokic, Andrew Wiggins, Stephen Curry and Ja Morant in the West.

Durant and James are captains for the second straight year, as Team Durant fell to James’ group by a final score of 170-150 last season.

Durant has been playing some of the best basketball of his career this season, averaging 29.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists on 52.0 percent shooting (37.2 percent from three-point range).

This year’s All-Star Game will be held on Feb. 20 in Cleveland.
