The intense but short-lived beef between Carmelo Anthony and Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett dating back to a purported on-court trash-talking incident in a game that took place in 2013 sparked a decade-long feud between the two stars.

Tensions rose during a regular season game, with both players engaging in intense on-court verbal assault. After the game, Anthony attempted to confront KG, which resulted in a media fiesta of coverage of the rumored insult driving the animosity. The story was that Garnett had insulted Anthony’s wife, La La, by saying she tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios.

The rumor gained widespread attention, even though it was later denied by both players.
