The legend of Klay Thompson is something that only continues to grow and morph into multiple well-known personas around fans of the Golden State Warriors. Thompson has gone by several aliases, including “Game Six Klay,” “China Klay” and recently “Boat Captain Klay.”

One of Thompson’s established nicknames is an ode to one of his famous looks — “Headband Klay.” At a recent workout at Golden State’s facility, the five-time All-Star broke out the headband. On Twitter, the Warriors shared a pair of photos from Thompson’s training session.

In 2018, Thompson suffered a cut on his head against the Chicago Bulls. The sharpshooting Warriors guard donned a headband and went on to notch a record-breaking performance from long distance. Thompson notched a record-setting 14 triples on 24 attempts from deep. The Washington State product tallied 52 points while wearing a headband in Golden State’s win over Chicago.

Once Thompson makes his long-awaited return to the Warriors’ lineup after rehabbing a pair of season-ending injuries, Chase Center could also see the comeback of Headband Klay.
