Harris a late scratch vs. Blazers due to health and safety protocols originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

Tobias Harris was a late scratch for the Sixers‘ Monday night game against the Trail Blazers.

The 29-year-old was ruled out due to health and safety protocols about 30 minutes before tip-off. Furkan Korkmaz took Harris’ spot in the starting lineup.

Harris went through his usual pregame routine, warming up on the Wells Fargo Center floor over an hour before the game. His status beyond Monday’s game is not currently known. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Sixers are expected to know more within the next 12 to 24 hours on a timetable for Harris’ return.

Through six games, Harris averaged 19.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists.

The Sixers were also without Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons for Monday’s contest. Embiid had a scheduled rest day, head coach Doc Rivers said pregame. The MVP runner-up has dealt with right knee soreness early this season.

“It had nothing to do with his knee,” Rivers said. “It was the plan. This was the day that we had planned. That’s as much as I know. We kind of went over the schedule — we go over it monthly — and we planned it out. It doesn’t always go as planned obviously but so far, so good.”

Simmons is out due to personal reasons. According to Rivers, Simmons did a “lot of shooting” Monday. There’s no timeline for his potential season debut, though Rivers has continued to express optimism.

“Today was the most I’ve seen him working by far,” Rivers said.
