Steph epically flexes Larry O’Brien Trophy on golf course originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Steph Curry has become one of the most decorated NBA players over the last decade, but winning his fourth championship this year was extra special for the eight-time All-Star.

And if there’s one thing the self-proclaimed “Petty King” is going to do, it’s show off what he accomplished even after being told for so long he wasn’t able to.

On Monday, the 2022 NBA Finals MVP was enjoying the offseason on the golf course at the University of Louisville Golf Club and used his handy-dandy hardware as a tee marker.

Iconic.

So what was the Larry O’Brien Trophy doing in Kentucky? Well, former Louisville basketball player and ex-Warrior Damion Lee and his L.E.E. Way Foundation hosted a charity golf event accompanied by Curry and, of course, the Larry O’Brien.

In an Instagram story posted at the event, Curry took a video of what he referred to as the “ultimate flex” as Lee pulled up in a golf cart carrying the trophy.

“How you pullin’ up on ‘em?!” Curry shouted.

While the two had tons of fun on the golf course, the event was for a good cause.

All proceeds from the inaugural golf scramble will benefit Louisville and Maryland youth by providing financial resources for scholarships, youth clinics/camps, local youth programs, giveaways and more, according to the foundation’s website.

Lee played for Louisville during the 2015-16 season and then professionally with the Warriors from 2018 to 2022. He signed a one-year deal with the Phoenix Suns for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
