This NBA star predicted Tatum’s fourth quarter heroics in Game 6 originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
The Boston Celtics needed a huge fourth quarter from Jayson Tatum to stave off elimination in Thursday night’s Game 6 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night, and that’s exactly what he delivered.
Tatum outscored the Sixers 16-13 in the final 12 minutes to help propel the Celtics to a 95-86 win to force a Game 7 at TD Garden on Sunday. The superstar forward hit four 3-point shots over the final 4:14 of the fourth quarter.
This outburst from Tatum was not expected by many people.
Eddie House has great reaction to Tatum’s incredible Game 6 finish
He started out Game 6 with one of the worst shooting displays of his career. He went 0-for-10 with one point over 21 minutes played in the first half. Going into the fourth quarter, Tatum had three points on 1-for-13 shooting (0-for-6 from 3-point range).
One NBA star — Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell — was confident Tatum would eventually deliver, and he made that prediction around the start of the fourth quarter:
Mitchell was actually at Game 6, and he congratulated Tatum following Boston’s win:

Tatum and the Celtics are favored entering Game 7, and rightly so. The Celtics are 5-2 in their last seven Game 7s played at the Garden, and they are 5-1 in Game 7s overall since the start of the 2017 playoffs.
