The Boston Celtics are seeing some very uneven play from two of their most important players that have led to a rough start to the 2021-22 NBA season that has left fans increasingly frustrated.

But there may be more than meets the eye here — not only is the team working in new players, styles of play, and coaching staff but both Smart and Brown have been dealing with health issues off of the court. How much is to be expected, how much should they be held accountable for, and what should we expect from both in the short and longer-term?
