With an NBA-record 17 titles to the storied franchise’s name and more Hall of Famers than you can shake a stick at in the over 75 years of history of the ball club, there are a number of Boston Celtics alumni who regularly make any greatest of all time lists.
More often than not, however, a trio of Boston icons make the list more than some others do, including Celtics short-timer Shaquille O’Neal, the so-called Hick From French Lick (as he was lovingly called) Larry Bird, and above all others, the ultimate winner of any sport, Hall of Fame Boston big man Bill Russell.
