Where do Celtics alums Larry Bird, Shaquille O’Neal, and Bill Russell belong in the G.O.A.T. debate?

With an NBA-record 17 titles to the storied franchise’s name and more Hall of Famers than you can shake a stick at in the over 75 years of history of the ball club, there are a number of Boston Celtics alumni who regularly make any greatest of all time lists.
More often than not, however, a trio of Boston icons make the list more than some others do, including Celtics short-timer Shaquille O’Neal, the so-called Hick From French Lick (as he was lovingly called) Larry Bird, and above all others, the ultimate winner of any sport, Hall of Fame Boston big man Bill Russell.
And such was the case when the folks behind the Maxi NBA YouTube channel, with all three perennial Boston stars making an appearance on their most recent “Top 10 NBA players of all time” video.
