All kinds of rumors and speculation surrounding the future of the Arizona Coyotes have swirled since Tempe voters shot down a new arena for the NHL team in an election earlier this week.

That speculation now includes relocation odds.

Bookies.com recently released odds for the next home of the Arizona Coyotes and Houston leads the odds at +150 (40% implied probability).

Kansas City, which has NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ support to be the home of the Coyotes, is second, at +450 (18.2%).

Toronto comes in third at +475 (17.4%), while Atlanta is fourth at +550 (15.4%).

Milwaukee (+850, 10.5%) and Quebec City (+1200, 7.7%) are the other two specific locations in the odds, which interestingly include “The Field” at +900 (10%).

Could the Arizona Coyotes leave Arizona?

Of Houston’s chances to land the Coyotes, should the team move, Adam Thompson wrote: “The Gulf of Mexico region isn’t exactly hockey territory, but Houston is one of the five largest metro areas in the nation and it has no NHL team. Houston boasts a ton of people, a ton of business and it continues to grow. If the NHL expands, Houston is considered a frontrunner for one of two possible teams. A Coyotes relocation could get a team to town sooner and is likely atop the league’s preferred destinations.”

The Coyotes’ Twitter account reacted to the odds.

Could the Coyotes really leave Arizona?

The team issued a statement earlier this week saying “We remain committed to Arizona and have already started re-engaging with local officials and sites to solidify a new permanent home in the Valley.”

But could the NHL be growing tired of all the arena drama in the state?

Until the team has a definitive answer to its arena question, the speculation and rumors will continue to swirl.
