Harri Sateri made his Arizona debut Thursday and gave up five goals on 32 shots in a loss to Vancouver…Sateri was claimed off waivers from Toronto at the trade deadline after winning Gold for Finland at the 2022 Olympics…Nick Schmaltz scored the only goal of the game for the Coyotes Thursday, giving him 22 and 50 points in 52 games…Phil Kessel became the NHL’s ironman this week when former Coyote Keith Yandle was made a healthy scratch by Philadelphia…Kessel is at 971 games, 18 behind Yandle’s all-time record…Kessel only has seven goals and 43 points this season as his career has really slowed down since he came to Arizona three seasons ago as he has only 41 goals and 124 points in 197 games.

The Hurricanes are two points up on the New York Rangers for first in the Metropolitan Division after beating the Sabres Thursday 5-3…Sebastian Aho scored twice to give him 33 goals and 71 points this season…Jesperi Kotkaniemi (lower body) is starting to partake in practice but is doubtful for this week…The Hurricanes sent their second-round pick in 2020, Vasily Ponomarev to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL after he spent this season with Moscow Spartak of the KHL…Frederik Andersen has not looked great in his last two outings, both losses as he has given up seven goals on only 41 shots.
